Bản tiếng Anh bài thơ “Khi Công an Việt đạp vào mặt …”

Một độc giả cúa blog này đã có một cử chỉ rất đẹp, đó là cho dịch bài thơ của tôi sang tiếng Anh và gửi lại cho tôi hôm qua trong một comment dưới entry cũ. E rằng sẽ có rất ít người đọc bản dịch ấy, nên tôi đăng lại thành một entry mới để chia sẻ với mọi người.

Và rất cám ơn người bạn từ thế giới ảo mà tôi không biết mặt đã dịch giúp tôi.

WHEN THE VIETNAMESE POLICE KICKED ONTO THE FACE OF THE VIETNAMESE PATRIOT

Indeed he has kicked onto our face
When he kicked onto the face of that patriotic young man
Not just once
But four times
Each kick carried with it a message
The first kick was for patriotism
Loving your own country? Unworthy of even a penny!
The second kick was reserved for the enthusiasm spirit
Hot headed? You’d better learn to be fearful
The third kick was saved for the student
Elitism? A bunch of stupid sheep
The fourth kick was for the Vietnamese people
Self sovereignty? You no longer have independence

I sat in front of the computer screen
Watching the video clip not less than 10 times
Found it was hard to swallow; I was speechless
My mouth tasted bitter
My heart was wrenching
My beloved country! How does it come to this?
My people! My heart is dripping with blood
My country is in danger
Yet I do not move an inch?
The “honorable” Vietnamese plain-clothed policeman kicked onto the face of a patriotic youth
To whose order did he follow?

This morning in Saigon
The sky was still blue, the clouds white
The city still vast
But out over there, The Eastern sea
(Oh no, should it be the South China Sea?)
The fishermen no longer came home
The fishing boats no longer dared going out
We no longer eat the fish from the eastern sea
Nothing matters
Not worthy anymore, the patriotism
No longer existed, the enthusiasm
All are deaf-mutes, the elites
Existing anymore? Our sovereignty
When Vietnamese police kicked onto the face of Vietnamese patriots.
